Overview
Launched in Spring 2026, Artists’ Bloc is a New Haven-based artist collective encouraging cooperative approaches to cultural production and engagement, while ensuring equitable partnerships between artists and culture organizations in our region.
Artists’ Bloc meetups take place in multiple locations, including: on-site at various project locations; online using our virtual community platform; and in person at SOURCE/MATERIAL, BLDG FUND’s Westville storefront featuring a hybrid art gallery and resource library.
Mission
Artists’ Bloc’s mission is simple: to mobilize the power of the collective in the production of culturally responsive exhibitions, programs, and public art projects that reflect New Haven’s shared values. Artists’ Bloc resists the creative stagnation and social isolation that occurs when working in silos by pooling resources and expertise to make space for creative risk, collective vision, and the heightened community impact of our work.
